Introducing Safe Travels

Posted May 15, 2020

We consider our team members, guests, owners and Club members all part of our vacation family. While we’ve been apart, a bright part of our days has been staying in touch with so many of you on social media through our #TogetherAtHeart community. We know from your comments that you’ve been missing your vacation time with us. Believe me, we have missed you, too. Our team has been hard at work planning and preparing to welcome you back safely as soon as the time is right.

Now more than ever, Holiday Inn Club Vacations® is committed to giving you the vacation experiences you love and a safe stay you can trust. That’s why we have introduced Safe Travels, a new program that checks the boxes on the higher safety standards we have all come to expect. That means:

  • We’re doing a lot of extra cleaning
  • Giving you even more space to spread out
  • Sharing ways that everyone can do their part to safely enjoy our resorts

You can view the full checklist of these new safety and cleanliness standards on our Safe Travels page.

As always, our resorts are designed to combine the comforts of home with the joys of vacation. We know full-sized kitchens, washers and dryers, and spacious villas are what make our resorts feel like a home away from home. And please know that we are also prioritizing ways for you to safely enjoy the fun parts of our resorts, like our sparkling pools, as part of our upcoming re-opening plans.

Speaking of which, I’m excited to share that we’re officially beginning a staggered re-opening of our resorts. This is the first step in what will be a phased and cautious approach, starting with opening our Smoky Mountain Resort in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and South Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Thursday, May 21, 2020. We’ll be reducing overall resort occupancies for initial re-openings, to ensure we’re giving guests more personal space for a safer stay and to comply with local regulations as they evolve. For more specifics on re-openings, please visit our Resort Updates page. I’d recommend checking this page often, as dates may change based on continuously updated guidance.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we look to open more resorts for your enjoyment soon, while also implementing all of our new procedures that will help give you and your family a safe experience. If you have an upcoming reservation with us, please know that our team is working diligently to keep you updated about your travel plans, while also assessing current occupancy levels to help provide a safe stay for all guests.

For more detailed information, I invite you to visit our new FAQ page or give us a call. I can even answer some questions you may have right now: Will things be different when you visit us again? Yes. Will we continue to work hard to give you an amazing vacation experience? Definitely. Are we being extra cautious about our new, higher safety and enhanced cleaning standards? Absolutely.

This is your home away from home. We want you to enjoy every minute of it together.

So, when you’re ready to vacation, we’ll be ready to welcome you back.

Wishing you Safe Travels,
Nelson Signature
